  Co-Curricular

SVB Pharmacy College gives utmost attention to the overall development of the personality of students.

Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities. While ensuring academic and co-curricular facilities to a vibrant student community, the college is conscious of its role as a constructive and responsible component of the larger society.

The highlights of academic year 2016-17 have been the following:

  • Workshop cum Seminar 'Advances in Viscosity Measurement - Problems & Solutions' 29th August 2016.
  • XVI Pharma Quiz & IX Young Pharmacist Innovative Project Award (YPIPA) - 17th Feb 2017.


At SVB Pharmacy College, the events are organized with the objective to encourage young talents with research aptitude to take up research as a career, to nurture and stimulate creativity in young minds and to set up an interactive network of young, fresh and talented researchers in pharmaceuticals and Health care.

Brookfield Ametek¨ in collaboration with Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan's College of Pharmacy organized a half- day Workshop cum Seminar on ‘Advances in Viscosity Measurement - Problems & Solutions' on 29th August 2016 at Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan's College of Pharmacy, Dombivli. The seminar was sponsored by BRK Instruments LLP. Ph.D. scholars, M.Pharm., B.Pharm. students from other colleges and industry personnel attended this seminar. There was live demonstration on digital viscometer (Model DV2TLV). Samples from the audience were analyzed and the Brookfield team resolved the queries of participants.

YPIPA 2017 received an overwhelming response from pharmacy colleges of all over Maharashtra state. Over 14 colleges across the state participated actively in the YPIPA event and 25 pharmacy colleges participated in the Pharma-Quiz Event. The function was presided over by Dr. R. Varadarajan, Founder-President NES-SVB group of Institutions; Dr. B.N Jagtap, Chief Guest of Inaugural function, Mr. Sudhir Rai and Dr. Aparna Rao Chief Guests of Valedictory function.

The projects were evaluated by experts from Pharmaceutical Industry and academia. Evaluators were Dr. Gajanan Sanap, Associate Professor & HOD Pharmaceutics department, Ideal College of Pharmacy; Dr. Surendra Agrawal, Assistant Professor, SPTM NMIMS University; Dr. Vinod Gupta, Assistant Manager, TCS. They greatly appreciated the research ideas presented by students. Students also enthusiastically participated in Quiz Competition which comprised of many interesting rounds. The prize winners of the poster competition and quiz were given lucrative cash awards. The events were a grand triumph due to the support and motivation of Founder President, Dr. R.Varadarajan, and the team work of all the staff members.
